"Manga University," also known as the "How to Draw Manga" publishers are running a "vanity publishing" scam. Now, normally, publishing offers are not scams. Vanity publishing is making money off an artist or author by requiring the author/artist to pay for the publication themselves. No reputable publishing house does this, as they make their profit off of books sold and pay the authors/artists for their work either with a percentage of the profits and/or royalty fees. Manga University is asking $20 to even LOOK at someone's artwork, and there's no guarantee that it will accepted for publication. If it IS accepted, that's another $100 to publish the work along with a bio page.
...Um.... NO.
A publisher should pay YOU for the right to distribute your art, not the other way around. Way to go, MU, for taking advantage of your watchers here on DA by offering a "too good to be true" scenario, then making profit off someone else's hard work without compensating THEM for it.
Steer clear of these guys, folks. Its only heartbreak in the long run.
